Our Story

About the Museum

The open-air museum, better known as” The Barracks” -WWII Museum Curaçao, is accessible to the public with benches overlooking a great part of the Blue Bay Resort and Golf course. You walk freely through the open-air exhibit among the old WWII remnants of the former US Coast Artillery Base, Camp Blaubaai. Under the passionate guidance of Allan van der Ree, the history is brought to life. The foundation wants to preserve the remnants of the American presence in Curaçao during World War II for future generations to see. The American troops’ memory will be kept alive by honoring them at this monumental site at Blue Bay Curaçao.
