Our Story

About the Museum

We are all about nature! MEC started out as a Marine Research Institute in 1955 and have since then broadly extended their research and education activities! On Curaçao they actively manage three national parks: The Christoffel National Park, Shete Boka National Park and The Curaçao Marine Park, where they protect the reef and conduct scientific marine research to make a difference in restoring our coral reef. Through their educational programs and activities they strive to engage the local youth with nature and all of its beauty. Visit the center where the guides can tell you stories about their research programs and interesting sea facts that will deepen your knowledge.
